Dakkar lay upon the riverside, yawning lightly. It was peaceful, here, something that he wasn't quite used to yet. He'd been living out in the wilds for years now, about as long as he'd been in a pack, and it was still a difficult transition for him. He glanced at the water, seeing his own, battle-scarred image looking back at him. Grunting, he placed his paw into the water, distorting the image as he looked away. Putting his paws down, he placed his maw upon them, inhaling once before letting out a long breath.

"Dakkar!" Amora called, her tail flicking to and fro as she padded through the snow-covered woods. "Dakkar, where did you get off to?"
She snorted, unhappy. He always did this; wandering off. Her ears pinned back crossly as she lowered her muzzle, sniffing the snow she was walking upon. He wasn't far; his scent was still fresh. She sprang forward again, trotting through the forest, not liking to be away from him in this new pack. Though they had been more or less accepted, she preferred to be around him until she could get any other friends around there.
"There you are." she said, spotting him lying by the river. He looked to be moping, but she padded toward him anyway, knowing he was probably still trying to get used to their pack as well. She slowed to a walk as she got closer, her bushy tail lowering to the snow, as if asking permission to get near him.

The gentle breeze brought scent of Amora, and Dakkar immediately regretted leaving her behind. The two of them were new to this pack, which meant that she felt probably just as lost as she did amidst the many wolves that were a part of this pack. It surprised him, a little, just how large the pack was without having too many fights within its ranks, at least, none that he could see.
Soon, his ears perked up as he heard her approaching his position, but he didn't bother to turn and look. As he suspected, she drew closer to him, silently asking permission to come close to him. "Come on, lay down," he said softly, though the words came out a little harsher, due to his gruff voice. She'd learned to accept it by now, and could tell when he was just being himself with his own voice, and when he really was angry or irritated.
The pond still rippled at his touch, though it was gradually starting to still. His tongue darted out, licking the moisture from his paw as he brooded in thought. "It's strange," he said after a moment, the harshness of his voice contrasting with the softness of his tone, as it normally did when he spoke to Amora. "Though we are members of this pack...I still feel like an outsider living on their land," he mused, his one good eye moving over to her. "You know?"

Brennus had been making his rounds around the packlands as usual. It was not like him to sit around his den with Silver and the pups for too much time. He imagined it would be wrong for the lead warrior to sit around when something could possibly be going wrong. This way if anything bad had happened, he would eventually be there to help. He hoped that his family understood that he only did this for the protection of the pack, and especially them. Of course that was no question, he had enough scars, enough near death experiences to prove that he'd die for any member of Noryca.
As he walked along the riverside, he peered into the water imagining that he'd follow the waterway to the boarders where he'd then take to following them. Though the thought was soon lost hearing a stranger's voice calling out to an unfamiliar name. Brennus continued to walk alongside the bank, only now peering across the river. Soon he sighted two wolves on the other side. As they did not look to be a threat, he imagined they were new to the pack. He always liked meeting new members, especially since it was his task to protect them. "Hello over there, hope I'm not interrupting on anything. Are you of Noryca?" he called to them, standing in clear view so that he'd be easy to spot.

Amora dipped her head low as he granted her permission to come near him. She moved closer, lying down at his side, her bright yellow eyes staring down into the water as well. Her reflection rippled slightly from the water's movements, but it was soon forming back into one solid picture. She watched it curiously, though she lied perfectly still, close to Dakkar.
He spoke, and she nodded in response, raising her head to look up at the treetops. "Yes...I feel that way too." she muttered, an unpleased tone in her voice. "Though it would probably be better if we met some of the others here..." She stretched her front legs awkwardly for a moment before relaxing, lying her head on her paws. "It's just...so different from being lone wolves."
But before either of them could continue their conversation, another called out, and Amora's ears perked quickly. She glanced in the direction of the voice, while one of her ears flattened and the other stayed high. "Yes." she answered for both of them, slowly rising to her feet. "You are as well, I presume?"

Dakkar nodded in response to her words. Indeed, that is what it was most like. Though they had seen a few other wolves here and there and exchanged greetings with one another, there hadn't been anything resembling communication. That fact alone made Dakkar feel a bit outcasted, almost like he was the Omega of the pack. He'd decided, along with Amora, to join this pack because of the lack of social aspect that they had. They two, despite their differences, got along well together. But they didn't talk overly much, instead preferring just to enjoy one another's company in silence, as anything that had happened to one of them had happened to the other.
Just as the two had begun to settle into their silence, a new voice broke the quiet, asking of their allegiance. Amora answered before Dakkar had a chance to, however he did stand and turned to face the direction from which the voice had come from. The owner of the voice had a certain edge to it that Dakkar found familiar, and assumed the speaker to be a warrior of some sort for the pack, one used to the rigors of combat. He didn't think he knew the owner; neither the scent nor sound of its voice was familiar to him.
"It seems Fenrir has a sense of humor after all," he muttered gruffly, his tone no longer soft as he prepared himself for the other's arrival. Just as they had been talking about meeting others, while not expecting to do so, one had come their way. Perhaps it was a sign, or perhaps it was nothing more than a coincidence. Either way, Dakkar couldn't say that he wasn't happy about it.

((OOC: Sorry for the delay and quick post. Only have two weeks of college left, so they are loading work on us.))
Brennus bowed his head down before calling his response across the river. "Yes, I'm Brennus Chief Warrior of Noryca! Mate to Silver, and godfather to Ayru, Blaze, and Diksha! Whom might I have the pleasure of running into!?" Before the question could be answered, the thought of holding a conversation across a river passed through his head. It'd be a bit bothersome to keep shouting out, personally he did not want to continue in such. "Hold on, there is a place of crossing ahead." With that he continued his tread along the river bank, ahead was a place where the water was shallow, perhaps one of the only safe places to cross.

Amora cocked her head to the side a bit as he announced himself so proudly, before her ears pinned back. She pawed at the ground, dipping her head before raising it again, listening to the other's words. Her tail swished from side to side thoughtfully, not really knowing whether or not it would be wise to trust this other wolf...but, from what she could tell, there was no reason to lie. An attempt to battle would be foolish, since it was two against one, and Dakkar had quite a few scars to show off just how much of a fighter he was. He claimed to already have a mate, so there would be no reason for him to try and force himself on her, either; so, she saw no problem in meeting with the fellow.
She glanced to Dakkar for a moment, before she turned, heading down the bank of the river, her golden eyes never leaving Brennus. "My name is Amora." she called back to him, raising her head proudly, her brown fur coated with a few specks of snow.

A bitter laugh escaped Dakkar's lips as he heard the other wolf introduce himself. He'd been right, as not only was this a warrior for the Norcya pack, but the chief warrior at that. If the old wolf wanted to get in on that, and fight again, he had found the wolf to talk to. As his yellow eyes fell upon the other wolf, he approved of the brute's rank. Neighboring packs, back when he was still with the Shadowed Moon, had a habit of appointing their chief warriors too young, which caused much fighting amongst themselves. Even warriors who were geniuses at fighting couldn't lead another to water if the pond was five feet away. The chief warrior's job was organization, which only came from experience, which this wolf, Brennus, seemed to have.
Amora introduced herself shortly after Brennus did, and Dakkar knew that it would be rude to withhold his information from another, especially one of the chief warrior's rank. "I am Dakkar," he called, his gruff voice carrying across the straits of the river, "mate to Amora," he added. Though this male was mated already, since their first incident, Dakkar had always been protective of Amora, though her strong-will had given the two strife on occasion. She was heading toward the shallow end of the river, to where Brennus was, and the grizzled wolf followed on instinct, giving himself the reason that it wouldn't hurt to see where this shallow crossing was.

As his memory served him right Brennus soon came to a crossing point. Pebbles and rocks through this area raised up from the water to form a safe crossing. Without testing the water Brennus leapt in to the knee deep river padding his way across, water splashing back loudly as he moved. The water was cold, but it was not more than he expected from the season.
Making quick work of the river he was soon standing on the bank facing the two wolves. Water dripping off his legs as he inspected the pair. He could sense some mistrust, but he knew all well what it was like to join a new pack. "Well...Dakkar and Amora, It's nice to meet the both of you. How are you taking to Noryca? Hopefully it's much to your liking?"
